If you’re looking for something that bridges your Mac and iPhone/iPad, this is it. The ultimate replacement for the finiky AirDrop!! With the new update it’s more powerful than before and most importantly, much more stable. Be sure to also check out the iOS app WorkFlow, the integration of DeskConnect has make this combo the best automation solution in Apple universe.

I very rarely write reviews, but this is an exeption. For years I had been texting myself to send photos, links, and documents, which sometimes didn’t even go through. With a click of a button I can do what used to take me 5 minutes, in half a second. Works flawlessly, is free, and leaves AirDrop in the dust. THE most useful application on my computer.

Sure great app for free , But I didn’t get a chance to use it because it asks you to create an account. I don’t think so ! I’m sure once an account is created then it’s not free anymore. One more way to invade privacy.

I commonly have text in Drafts on my iPhone/iPad that I want to send to my Mac. This was always a process before. Now, I use DeskConnect. In fact, since Workflow supports it, I use a Workflow that I can trigger from Drafts, so a single press sends the current text document to my Mac. Minor issue: clicking on banner notification on Mac doesn’t take you directly to the file, just tells you where to click to open it. Highly useful would be an option to copy the text directly from the file, rather than having to open it in TextEdit (Share options are available but copy is not part of the Share extensions).

I was a fan of this once useful app but, currently, in 10.10.5, the app crashes when one tries to access files sent to it (by selecting “Recent” items). This renders the application all but worthless as you cannot retreive any file sent thru the service from another device! And you don’t know where the file resides on your Mac as that location is neither configurable nor disclosed. You are out of luck. I hope the developers address this known bug, called out by others for weeks now.

I fruitlessly spent hours in different sessions over the past couple of years tyring to get airdrop to work for file sharing between MBA (Lion), MM (Snow Leopard), iMac (Yosemite), MBP (El Capitan), iPhone (iOS 9) and iTouch (iOS6). About a year ago I discovered DeskConnect when doing another internet search to figure out how to make airdrop work. I am 100% satisfied with DeskConnect. I can transfer anything in a split second, except for movie files which might take up to a minute or so (50mbs FiOS). Unlike others, it has never crashed for me on any of my devices since I have installed it. This truly astonishing program is even free! And no pop up or annoying ads. It just works,
